“Throughout life we all put on masks. We may not remember how it was first put on or when. Why we felt the need to have one or many. Over time these masks become who are to the world, characteristics that cover our souls. Eventually the soul longs to be set free and then the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing skin.
The bronze in this piece mimics our masks. It is strong and unmoving, but has the power to be changed through abrasive acts. Much like the climax moments in our own lives that change who we are.” - Amber Lelli
